COCKERELS
The Troop is divided into two teams and numbered off. A two-metre radius circle is drawn on the floor.
No. 1 of each team stands on one foot at the edge of the circle and, on the signal, hops with arms folded and tries by shoulder charging to force the other to put the other foot on the ground, unfold arms, or go outside the circle. The team winning most contests wins.
MINEFIELD
Chairs and other barriers are placed thickly throughout the room. The Patrols line up in relay formation at one end. Starting with the Patrol Leaders, who are blindfolded and have to cross the minefield without touching a mine, they are assisted by their Patrol who may call out and tell them directions in which to move.
The first to cross the minefield wins. Each player may be blindfolded in turn to do the same.
CITY WALLS
Players form into four or six teams and each team captain selects two individuals to be a "CITY GATE". All the teams' CITY GATES stand on the circumference of a purely imaginary circle within which the other players amble aimlessly in a leisurely tangle. On the whistle they all hurtle through the nearest gate - that is, between two of the pillar players - and run clockwise around the circle. On the second whistle they all rush to their own gate and the first team to line up inside the circle between their gate and the centre wins.
JAPANESE TAG
One player is "IT", the others merely "THEM". Whoever "IT" touches must clap his or her hand to the infected spot, whether it is arm, ankle, behind, nose, knee or neck and, in turn, become the pursuer.
