Queen’s Scout Award

The awarding of each of the four main Queen's Scout Award Area badges will be

on the recommendation of the Unit Council and Venturer Scout Leader,
by approval of the Awards Standards Committee.

As each of the four Award areas is completed and approved it will be recognised with the issuing of a badge and a certificate.

Queen's Scout Award Requirements

1. Be a Venturer Scout.

2. Have gained the Venturing Skills Award.

3. Completed the requirements in the four Award Areas:

There is far more to the Queen's Scout Award than just passing tests. The Award is recognised by the community at large to be a worthwhile achievement and the certificate is presented to the Venturer Scout by a representative of the Queen. The main point is that the Venturer Scout is recognised as being of good character and a worthy member of the Scout Movement. Therefore, the additional requirements are:

4. Be recommended by the Unit Council and the Venturer Scout Leader.

5. Be recommended by the Group Leader and the Group Council.

6. Have a personal interview with the District Commissioner or equivalent.

7. Upon successfully completing requirements 1-6, the District Commissioner will recommend to the Branch Chief Commissioner that the Queen's Scout Award be presented.

Personal Growth

A great opportunity for the Venturer Scouts to find out a great deal about themselves through expression, ideals, mental, pursuits and their own lifestyle.

Leadership Development

Preparing for adult responsibilities in a democratic society will come from being involved in Unit Management and Leadership courses. A look at vocations gives an opportunity to study employment prospects for the future.

Community Involvement

This Award Area involves the Venturer Scout in activities around citizenship, service and the environment. First Aid is a necessary achievement for health and safety for adventurous activities in which the Venturer Scouts may find themselves involved.

Adventurous Activities

Here the Venturer Scout is challenged in initiative, expeditions and outdoor adventures.
