Blue Cord - Kalamunda to Mundaring Weir
First section of the hike is quite strenuous particularly for those hiking with a full pack for the first time. Take care in the first few kilometers on the steep downhill stretch. Then it’s UPHILL. Stop at the camel farm on Paulls Valley Road for refreshment (ice cream and teas). On day 2 you can get refreshments in Mundaring Weir and at the Perth Hills National Park Centre. At the Perth Hills National Park Centre follow the Patten’s Brook Campsite Trail from the Hill’s Centre to Patten’s Brook Campsite and back round to the Perth Hills National Parks Centre.
Distance - 25km (10km + 15km)
Going - Strenuous (day 1), moderate (day 2).
Start Point - Kalamunda - start of the Bibbulmun Track.
Overnight - Hewett’s Hill shelter.
End Point - Perth Hills National Park Centre, Mundaring Weir.
Time - 5 hours + 5 hours
